Make a Donation The Liberal Democrats mainly rely on modest donations from our members and supporters for funding. With thousands of supporters across the country each making a small donation, we raise our funds to pay for leaflets, newspapers and campaigning.
The donations the Conservatives and Labour receive from big business and trade unions gives them far more to spend than we do. The Electoral Commission's register of donations to political parties for the final quarter of 2007 shows that Labour received £5.9 million, compared to £11.3 million received by the Conservatives and £1.4 million received by the Liberal Democrats.
In order to win in Gloucester again at the next election, our campaign will have to at least match the well funded Conservative campaign.
